Doctor Richardson received his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University. After graduating with honors at University of Louisville School of Dentistry, he continued on to complete his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In 1994 he joined Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Nashville. He also currently serves as clinical associate faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Doctor Richardson is committed to achieving clinical excellence through continuous educational pursuits. He practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including cleft reconstruction, laser surgery, and obstructive sleep apnea. He has a robust orthognathic jaw reconstruction practice, performing over 300 jaw corrections throughout the past twenty years. In addition, he has an interest in maxillofacial bone grafting and implant reconstruction.
Although education has been paramount throughout his life, Doctor Richardson has many personal interests. After excelling in high school and collegiate athletics, he still pursues tennis, golf, scuba, surfing, and is an avid snowboarder. He also plays piano, mandolin, and guitar, and enjoys playing music with friends and family. He travels frequently and has visited Ukraine as a consultant for Piragov University.
As a multi-rated instrument pilot, Doctor Richardson participates with “Angel Flight”, providing air transportation for those in need of specialized care. He hopes to pair his passion for aviation with his surgical expertise to provide both services in the future.
